I've been working at developing this site, but there is so much to do. I want to create a fan page on Facebook, but to do that I should really have a logo. Wix has a logo designer and they're happy to tell me all about it and how to use it, but I can't find a button to actually get it started. There's a list of things to accomplish that only seems to get longer and only one small item is to actually finish my musical Life and After, I feel it's necessary to redo and/or improve a few things.
Just yesterday I redid the vocal on It's So Beautiful. The prior vocal was good, but I wanted it to be more expressive. Plus I wanted the intro to be... more beautiful. The strings accompaniment just didn't seem to do it. So I re-recorded it for solo piano so I could make the rhythm more flexible, sang the whole song four times (actually six, but I didn't record the first two times through). Selected the best phrases for the final vocal (comping the vocal) and did some judicious pitch correction, which sounds so natural you'll never hear it, but which makes my singing sound so much better. And then I ran out of time so I still need to do the final mix and render a stereo file.
That's my comfort zone, writing and producing music. Promoting it by developing a web site and Facebook fan page is well outside my comfort zone. And when I run into a speed bump, like not being able to find the button to start the logo designer, I tend to pause momentarily. I know I'll figure it out eventually, but right now I'm stewing in frustration thinking I could be doing something useful.
I could use a good joke right now!
